France wins ten medals at the Youth World Cup, Flavien Coton crowned in U15

Saint in singles among the under-15s, Flavien Coton, 14, on Sunday brought a tenth medal for the young French teams during the Worlds, which took place in Tunis (Tunisia). The Norwegian, world number 3 in his age category, beat Japan’s Kazuki Yoshiyama (number 4) 4-2 in the final.

The only gold medal for the Blues, who have won nine others this week. Among the U19s, Félix Lebrun left Tunis with four bronze medals: in singles, doubles with Thibault Poret, mixed doubles with Prithika Pavade and team (with Thibault Poret and Hugo Deschamps).

Prithika Pavade (world number 10 in her category), who fell in the quarter-finals against the Japanese Miwa Harimoto (number 3), is also the vice-world champion in women’s doubles, associated with Charlotte Lutz (defeat in the final against the Japanese pair Harimoto-Kihara), and in teams (with Charlotte Lutz and Agatheavezou).

In the U15s, Flavien Coton is also a bronze winner in doubles with Nathan Lam and in a team with Nathan Lam and Antoine Noirault. In women’s doubles, Léana Hochart and Gaétane Bled are bronze winners.
